The primary music activity for children is our children’s choir program.  Each Wednesday night during the school year  our children, 1st through 5th grade, experience music through Choir, Bible time and crafts.  Staffed by wonderful Christian role models, this is a time for fellowship, music making and learning the fundamentals of music and the Christian faith.

As children are exposed to the joyful spirit of music they begin building a foundation for a life-long love of singing.  During these formative years, our children learn how music and creative arts help us communicate with God.  Throughout the year our children lead in worship services and sing for seasonal programs.

The Next Generation Children's Music Ministry provides our children with opportunities to learn the joys of praising God through singing. Our objectives are:

         To teach children how to find and develop their singing voice

         To teach children how to read music

         To teach hymns and songs of the faith

         To teach and instill an understanding of worship

         To participate in worship

         To support the music through scripture and Bible stories and a hand’s on activity

         To enjoy fellowship

Guided by leaders who love children and music, our children are blessed by the joys of music-making, and they are also a blessing to our congregation.  Our children’s choirs sing in worship several times a year.  The children will also present a musical at the end of the 21 week session.  Together with our wonderful staff, we provide our young musicians with a rewarding musical experience and spiritual growth through the art of worship arts.  Your child will not want to miss the fun, fellowship and music as we lift our voices in song.

“Made for Praise” is a children's choir curriculum for grades 1-5 that's packed with songs your kids will adore, as well as spiritual truths that you will love! We sing from the  best composers and arrangers of children's music, all of whom are committed to the tradition of teaching godly values and principles through song. The weekly session will include dramas, games, sign language, interpretive movement, small skits and more.

We’ll end the year with our musical, “Fish Tales”!  These are stories that are “supernatural, completely factual and actually occurred.”  These tales about fish come from God’s Word with a unique emphasis on Thanksgiving, Easter and missions.  At the “Fish Tales Fishing Tournament” kids will join their host Mr. Gill for a great time of Bible songs and stories … about fish!

This will be the culmination of our year and will be presented to the congregation on Sunday evening, March 15.

Since the children will be coming directly from school each Wednesday, we will provide a healthy snack for them prior to the start of TNG.  Parents are encouraged sign up when registering their child(ren) to bring food at least one time during the 21 weeks of TNG.

The fee of $40 for the first child and $30 for each additional child will be collected at registration.  This fee will cover music, materials, and a t-shirt that will be worn during our presentation of Fish Tales at the end of the year.  Scholarships are available.

Here are the tentative dates and times that we will be sharing in worship.  The children will sing at the beginning of the 9:45 service and then be dismissed to their Sunday school classes.  They will sing again at the beginning of the 11:00 service.  We will send a note home the week prior to your child singing in worship as a reminder.
